How to translate text to Morse code
- Open Morsely
- Make sure the mode is set to Text → Morse
- Type or paste your text in the input box
- The Morse code appears instantly below
- Tap the copy icon to copy, or the share icon to send it anywhere
How to decode Morse code to text
- Tap the mode switch to Morse → Text
- Enter Morse code using
.(dot) and-(dash) - Use a single space between letters and
/between words - The decoded text appears in real time
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the app work offline?
Yes. All translations run locally on your device — no internet connection is required. Your text never leaves your phone.
Does the app contain ads or in-app purchases?
No. Morsely is completely free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
What characters are supported?
All 26 English letters (A–Z), digits 0–9, and common punctuation (. , ? ' ! / ( ) & : ; = + - _ " $ @) are supported. Accented or non-Latin characters are not part of the standard Morse code table and will be ignored.
Why does my Morse code not decode correctly?
Make sure you are using:
- A single space between individual letters
- A slash
/(surrounded by spaces) between words - Only
.and-characters for each symbol
Example: .... . .-.. .-.. --- / .-- --- .-. .-.. -.. decodes to "HELLO WORLD".
Can I save or export my translations?
You can copy the result to your clipboard or use the Share button to send it via Messages, Mail, or any other app. For privacy reasons, the app does not keep a translation history.
Is there a dark mode / light mode?
The app uses a classic "Telegraph" dark theme optimized for comfortable reading in any lighting condition. A light theme is being considered for a future update.
What data does the app collect?
None. Morsely does not collect any personal data, device identifiers, analytics, or usage events. The app has no accounts, no tracking, and no ads. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
How do I request deletion of my data?
Since the app does not collect or store any personal data, there is nothing to delete. If you want to stop using the app entirely, just uninstall it from your device.
Troubleshooting
The app crashes on launch
- Force-quit and reopen the app
- Restart your device
- Make sure your OS is up to date (iOS 15+ or Android 8+)
- If the issue persists, reinstall the app
Copy or share button doesn't work
- Check that you have granted the app clipboard access (iOS only)
- Ensure there is text in the result area before tapping the button
